Mr. and Mrs. are out to lunch.
She seems a bit further along in the molt than he does. He looks like he left his hat at home.

The grackle
The crippled grackle is still visiting. It came to drink from the bird bath yesterday.
Grackles look black from a distance but closer you can see their colors.
Autumn color
Northern cardinal is molting.

For the past month or so, we have had more cardinals visiting the feeders than I remember being normal.

The weather has been very dry, but yesterday we had monsoon-like rainstorms. The autumn color has been lagging but maybe it will catch up now… and soon the leaves will “molt” too.
